Bonnie and Jim Parr of St. Petersburg are the Fun Finders, and their latest assignment came from Rand McNally/USA Today: Visit the six finalists in the Best of the Road: Best for Food contest.

So the Parrs are traveling all over the country, exploring the towns said to have the best restaurants. One of these towns is Gulfport, right here in Tampa Bay, Florida!

The other finalists are Visalia and Costa Mesa, both in California; Burnsville, Minn; Addison W.Va.; and Lafayette, La.

During their stop here in Gulfport the Parrs tried the food from several local restaurants, including O'Maddy's, T and Me, Pia's Trattoria, Stella's Deli, Tangelo's, Neptune Grille and Island Flavors and Tings. And the Parrs had a chance to shop at some of Gulfport's best local businesses, including Bo-Tiki and The House of Renee Originals.
