ST. PETERSBURG, Fla --- Join us from 10 am to sunset Saturday, Nov. 28. as we celebrate Small Business Saturday at the annual LocalShops1 Shopapalooza Festival.

The event, in its sixth year, is a free community festival featuring all that's awesome about Tampa Bay. Almost 150 local businesses will be there with prizes, raffles and plenty of holiday specials!

Acrobatic performers, strolling entertainers, kids crafts, Why Local Matters banners and a charity silent auction will also help fill South Straub Park in St Petersburg to celebrate the biggest buy local celebration in Tampa Bay, possibly even Florida

Admission is free.

This year’s entertainment includes specially choreographed acrobatic performances by Cirque City in Clearwater, strolling entertainment by Ciara Carinici’s theatrical troupe, dance and tumbling performances by Competitive Dance Edge Academy, music DJ MC White, and more.

Our special sections include the Children’s Zone, sponsored by Great Explorations Children’s Museum, featuring plenty of activities and crafts (check out Great Exploration’s spin art demonstrations!), plus local businesses offering clothing, toys, gifts and services for parents, babies and children.

Other sections include an expanded Artists Village and a silent auction to benefit The Kind Mouse Productions.

“Shopapalooza is a way to celebrate and spotlight the great independent businesses that make Tampa Bay such an amazing place,” says Ester Venouziou, LocalShops1 founder. “It gives consumers the opportunity to kick off the holiday shopping season by shopping locally!”

Shopapalooza, now in its sixth year, is a production of LocalShops1 and sponsored by the City of St. Petersburg. The event is typically on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, and because of much demand from both businesses and shoppers, this year event organizers decided to double the fun with Shopapalooza Part I (Nov 21) and then a repeat show with even more participating businesses the following Saturday, Nov 28, aka Small Business Saturday.
This year’s nonprofit partners are Rotary Club of St. Petersburg Sunset and The Kind Mouse Productions. Event sponsors are Moorman Photographics, American Stage Theatre Co., St. Petersburg Tribune and Great Explorations Children’s Museum. The VIP party food sponsor is Smokin’ J’s Real Texas BBQ.
