Our monthly Second Thursday Social takes a new twist in November! We're going on a ride aboard the newly launched Cross Bay Ferry!

The Cross Bay Ferry Project is working with civic, arts, neighborhood and business groups, including LocalShops1, on a campaign to Test the Waters by touring the new ferry and taking a short excursion ride around the bay.

LocalShops1 is co-hosting the evening ride on Thursday, Nov. 10, along with the American Planning Association's Sun Coast chapter. Boarding time is 4:30, and the ferry will depart promptly at 5 pm from the North Yacht Basin, next to the Vinoy and the St. Petersburg Museum of History, and will take us on a short ride around the bay. We will return at 6 pm.

This is a great opportunity to explore the ferry, enjoy the beautiful fall weather, look for dolphins, and meet and mingle with members of LocalShops1 and the American Planning Association.

Reservations are required. We have a limited number of free tickets available for LocalShops1 business, artist, nonprofit and shopper members. Please log in to register. Advance registration is required. Tickets will not be available that evening.

Admission is free, and concessions and beverages will be available for purchase, or you may bring your own snacks.

The Cross Bay Ferry Project runs from November 1, 2016, through April 30, 2017, between the Vinoy Basin in downtown St. Petersburg and the Tampa Convention Center in downtown Tampa. The pilot project is a regional effort designed to showcase water transportation technology and service options to residents and businesses of the Tampa Bay region. The Cross-Bay Ferry is a collaboration between St. Petersburg, Tampa, Hillsborough and Pinellas County. For more information go to
