St. Pete Pride and LocalShops1 are working together to help reignite the local economy and re-energize the Tampa Bay area. The partnership brings together two of the region's most active organizations in the Tampa Bay area:, Tampa Bay's leading voice for locally owned, independent businesses; and St. Pete Pride, one of the largest Pride organizations in the Southeast.

St. Pete Pride last year introduced its rewards membership program, and local businesses are invited to participate by offering a discount to Pride members. In exchange, the business gets listed on the Pride directory, e-newsletters and other promotional materials. There is no cost to participate. Please see application form at the bottom of this page. Each year, Pride commemorates the bravery of the Stonewall rioters with a parade on the last Saturday of June. This tradition started in large cities in 1970 and has since become a focal point for the solidarity of the LGBT community across the nation.

St. Petersburg's first Pride Parade was in 1993 and has since grown into one of the largest Pride events in the Southeast and the largest one in Florida. In 2011, estimated attendance topped 85,000-90,000 people.
