So you have an awesome idea, and need just a bit of extra cash to get it going? Would $1,000 come in handy? Here's your chance to get your project going, thanks to Creative Tampa Bay and Creative Loafing.
And who better to help than last year's winners, Reuben Pressman and Hunter Payne! The two longtime friends — and business partners — are organizing two workshops to help create, develop and execute your own ideas to submit to the competition.
Reuben, 22, and Hunter, 21, are the brainchilds behind Swings Tampa Bay, which they describe as a "spontaneous community-building organization." The two hang handmade hand-painted swings all over Tampa Bay: on trees, inside buildings, off of bridges. "We just find a fun place that speaks to us and go for it!" they say.
And that, says Reuben, is the key to success. His advice for 10/100/1000 contestants? "It better be fun!"

Now, with more than 150 swings hung and more than 1,000 painted, Reuben and Hunter are still having fun. And they're still reeling in from loads of publicity, including features in WMNF, Creative Loafing, Tampa Bay Times, Bay News 9 and Fox 13, just to name a few.
Where do the two go from here? Nowhere!
Their newest project? "I'm Staying!'' ... an irreverent video campaign extolling the virtues of life in the 'Burg. Also in the works: $5,000 grants for budding artists and entrepreneurs.
So, what can winning the 10/100/1000 project do for you? There's only one way to find out.
