ST. PETERSBURG – Okay holiday shoppers, here’s another place you can go to get a head start on those lists you have to fulfill: more than 50 local vendors will be selling their best stuff at the first ever Shopapalooza at BayWalk in St. Petersburg this Saturday.
"It’s our own personal stimulus plan. Basically, what we’re doing is we’re getting all the locally owned businesses and we’re taking over Baywalk,” says Arlene Segovia, who represents Local Shops1.com, which is hosting the event.
"We have skincare, health, gym, fitness photographers…a lot of homemade and unique jewelry stores,” she adds.
Seventy cents of every dollar made at the local shopping experience will go back to the community.
"That’s a lot of money, and that’s a lot of jobs and that’s a lot of support for your Mom and Pops,” says Segovia.
Shopapalooza will be happening at Baywalk in St. Petersburg this Saturday November 20th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information on this and other events supporting local business, check out their website: events@LocalShops1.com.
