St. Petersburg, FL -- LocalShops1 is excited to welcome multi-media journalist Cherlene Willis to the LocalShops1 staff.
Cherlene's duties will include collaborating with business, artist and non-profit members on LocalShops1 functions; documenting local businesses through photos and videos; and representing LocalShops1 at community functions and neighborhood events primarily in St. Petersburg, Gulfport and South Pinellas beaches.
"We are beyond thrilled to have Cherlene on our team," says Ester Venouziou, LocalShops1 founder. "She is one of the most dynamic and talented journalists around, and her love for the community shows through in everything she does."
Cherlene brings more than 10 years of experience in writing, photography, videography and communications, most recently as editor of the Gulfport Patch and Pinellas Beaches Patch. Before joining the Patch she was the weekend anchor and reporter for KELO TV in Sioux Falls, SD.
"I am excited to join the LocalShops1 team and work side by side with local businesses to help owners expand their reach and achieve their goals," says Cherlene. "I also look forward to helping promote the Buy Local movement and connecting local shoppers with local business owners in more ways than one."
Cherlene begins her job Dec. 1. She joins the staff, which includes Ester Venouziou, president & founder; Mo Venouziou, vice-president; and Billie Jo Grassinger Bell, North Pinellas director.
