Mission The Humane Education Connection is a non-profit organization that strives to reduce the abuse of children and animals through educational programs that utilize the powerful connection of the Human-Animal bond.
Company Overview We are a Human and Animal abuse intervention, youth development program that works with children who have been the victim or witnessed violence, neglect and abuse; and who now reside in SAFE HOUSE SHELTERS and other facilities.
Description The Humane Education Connection’s “Canines Helping Kids in Crisis” program uses fun, interactive educational activities and curriculum for children, that builds character, promotes the humane treatment of animals and helps to create a safer, more compassionate community for its human and non- human inhabitants.
The Cycle of Abuse: Research shows that children who live with or witnesses abuse in the home are more likely to repeat the abuse as adults; creating a cycle of abuse. With the assistance of rescued dogs, that have earned their K-9 good citizen certification, we teach compassion, kindness and character education to break the repeated cycles of abuse and replace it with a POSITIVE attitude, renewed self-esteem, confidence, a sense of responsibility and respect for all life.
