You're invited to an ongoing art and photography exhibit featuring 70 unique works of art and images of and from the St. Petersburg Pier.
Thirty local artists and photographers have contributed their personal
expressions of this St. Petersburg icon to a show that will
mix and match art and photography according to subject. This is a
unique opportunity to look through the creative prism of locally
talented people at a structure many of us see daily.
The opening reception is May 11, 2012, 6-9pm. The exhibit will be ongoing through June 9, 2012. 1-5pm daily. Admission is free.
Enjoy the walk or the trolley to the St. Petersburg Pier, 800 2nd
Avenue Northeast, St. Petersburg, Fla, 33701. Then take the elevators to
the Third Floor Reception Area. Parking is plentiful at the various
lots at the foot of the pier.
The exhibit features seventy
works of art and photography including an original oil by Carrie Jadus, a
metal sculpture by Frank Strunck III, and photography by "Downtown
Carol" Gallagher among many others.
The show is sponsored by
The St. Petersburg Pier and curated by Velva Lee Heraty. The show
reflects Heraty's vision of enhancing the St. Petersburg art scene by
mixing and matching talented amatures with established professionals
from all mediums.
The contributing artists and photographers
range from new-to-the-gallery-scene college students to seasoned, award
winning, gallery pros. They are: (alphabetical according to first name):
Frank Strunk III
John Shevlin, Jr.
