These days, there are a gazillion networking groups, and someone could spend their days hopping from one networking meeting to the next. But how do you make the most out of it, so it's not just a fun social hour but an effective use of your work day?
Lisa Demmi, owner of Cake Sweet Promotional Concepts, will talk about the good, the bad, the ugly. She will lead a conversation on what works and what doesn't; how to make true connections that last and result to leads, rather than walk around and collect business cards.
The discussion will include delicious lunch from Tangelo's Grille, which has been bringing a Taste of the Islands to Tampa Bay since 1986.
About the speaker
Lisa is owner and Chief Creative Thinker of Cake Sweet Promotional Concepts, a social media/marketing company. Cake manages social media accounts, trains, consults and performs seminars regarding the use of Social Media for business. Lisa has given numerous presentations on Social Media, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube and has been acting as the marketing director for a local non-profit, Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay, for the past year. Cake has grown from a one-person company with four clients to a three-person team with a roster of more than 20 clients and growing!
Lisa's experience was rooted in her childhood. Apparently, she has always been good at marketing because she was asked to run her family's business and did so successfully for five years until her parent's retirement more than a year ago. During that time, part of her duties was business development and marketing and that's where her love of social media started. She is a member of Carrollwood Area Business Association, where she is a past president, as well as a member of the Centre Club, where she is on the Technology Committee, and the Tampa Bay Business Guild, where she is a member of the board and heads the Marketing Committee.
