Total Eclipse Field Camp

Posted By Preparatory Academy, Inc., Monday, June 5, 2017

Not quite once in a lifetime, but super-rare. We've arranged for families to view the total solar eclipse at a private property right in the path of the eclipse! We'll have telescopes out Saturday night for planet and star gazing, and we'll have some fun, educational astronomy activities for the kids.  Then, Sunday we'll get together for a full day of field camp - ecology, earth space science, some biology (we'll have the microscopes out), and even a little art and language arts and conclude with dinner. All the activities are age-appropriate and fun as well as educational.  Monday is the BIG EVENT and we'll meet in the morning for more fun and make sure everyone knows how to watch the eclipse safely. We'll have a few different ways to watch it. Monday will also include a barbeque lunch followed by the rare event of the moon moving between the earth and the sun!

Each participant will receive a T-shirt and students will receive both a book and field notebook.

Includes snacks and water, Sunday dinner, Saturday barbque lunch.

Families will have to arrange their own transportation and any other meals.

Parents: $75

Students: $100

Children under 3: $25

Single event day: $50
