The Gulfport Neighbors is hosting a beach cleanup from 9 to 11 am Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Pavilion #4 along Shore Boulevard.
The cleanup will include the beach, Wood Ibis Park, and surrounding areas. If there are enough volunteers the group will also do a mini cleanup in the northeast corridor of the city.
"If you are looking for an activity where you can make a difference and at the same time get outdoor exercise and meet interesting people while reducing the pollution in our waterways and the litter in our community, this event is for you!" says the group's founder, Margarete Tober.
Pickers/grabber tools will be available, but if you have your own you are encouraged to bring them. Gloves, sun protection and comfortable footwear are also recommended. Water will be provided.
