The Sunshine City’s passion for the craft beer industry takes a historic turn to the St. Petersburg Museum of History December 4, 2015, when the city’s oldest museum will host Beers on the Pier – A Craft Beer Festival.
Overlooking the downtown waterfront, and staged among Tony Jannus’ Benoist airboat, the world’s largest collection of autographed baseballs, the Sunshine City’s History Gallery and a 3,000 year-old Egyptian mummy, Beers on the Pier will feature music, food trucks, talks with local brewers and craft beer from more than 25 breweries in Florida, Colorado, California and the Northeast.
Beers on the Pier takes place 6 to 10 pm Dec 4 at the museum, 335 2nd Ave. NE, St. Petersburg. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 day of the festival. The price includes a commemorative tasting glass, unlimited beer tastings and admission to all museum exhibits. Beers on the Pier festival goers must be 21 or over.
Tickets are available in person at the museum, over the phone, or online at www.beersonthepier.org. The event is sponsored by J.J. Taylor Distributing Florida and 98Rock. For more information call 727-894-1052.
“Who said history is boring?” says Rui Farias, the museum's executive director. “St. Petersburg is rapidly becoming known as a craft beer hotbed and the Museum of History is happy to be a vehicle to help bolster that national reputation.”
