The Museum of Fine Arts is planning a fundraiser for a little boy suffering from a rare bone marrow failure disorder. The fundraiser takes place 7 to 10:30 pm July 18, 2015, at the museum.
Finn, 7, is the son of Bridget Bryson, who works in the Curatorial Department at the MFA. In Old Irish, Finn means Little Blonde Soldier. Finn was diagnosed with Diamond Blackfan Anemia when he was only 3 months old and has been on an aggressive treatment of blood transfusions, every two weeks. Chronic transfusions are no longer a viable option, so Finn's parents are taking him to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center for chemotherapy and a life-saving bone marrow transplant. Funds raised at the fundraiser will be used to cover expenses during the six months they will be away from work and home.
Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at littleblondesoldier.com. Admission includes an open bar, heavy hors d'oeuvres from local St. Pete restaurants, art auction, raffles, and entertainment by The Betty Fox Band! Businesses interested in donating items for raffles may contact Susan M. Robertson, MFA's marketing director, at (727) 896.2667, ext. 252, or email@example.com.
