The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Business District is hosting an open house from 10 am to 2 pm Saturday, April 11, 2015.
“The open house provides a unique opportunity to showcase the wide range of businesses along the MLK corridor — reflective of the diversity, creativity, and innovative spirit of its namesake,” St Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman said in a press release.
Local businesses are building awareness of the diverse businesses in the district, which extends from 26th Avenue South to 34th Avenue North, from Magnolia Heights in the north, to Lake Maggiore Shores and Harbordale in the south. The district is home to restaurants, antique and furniture stores, framing and art stores, used books, acupuncture and beauty salons, as well as a dog grooming salon and thrift store.
Participating businesses include LocalShops1 members ImpulseCliCs.com (2323 Dr. MLK Jr. St N) and St. PetersBARK (2435 Dr. MLK Jr. St N), along with neighboring businesses Cimino Gallery and Custom Picture Framing, St. Petersburg Jazzercise, Tampa Bay Furnishings, Salty Dog Grooming and Manely Hair. The open house will include free samples and discounts, as well as drawings for a chance to win gift certificates from the participating businesses.
