The Gulfport Merchants Association has selected four organizations to be recipients for 2015 Community Support Grants. The groups will receive a portion of proceeds from the GMA’s trio of “Gecko Events” in late summer: Gecko Pub Crawl August 8, Gecko Ball August 29 and GeckoFest September 5. Grant amounts will be determined after conclusion of the events.
The 2015 grant recipients are the following:
- CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse), providing services to women and families recovering from abusive environments
- Circle of Friends of the Gulfport Public Library, providing fundraising and volunteer services to the Library
- Daystar Life Center, providing food and other basic necessities to community members during times of hardship
- Sonia Plotnick Health Fund, providing financial assistance to women in need of medical services
"The GMA would like to thank all organizations which applied for grants this year for their very worthy contributions to our community," they say in their press release. For more information contact Daniel Hodge; firstname.lastname@example.org or (727) 366-4086.
