Folkfest St. Pete 2014 takes place 10 am to 9 pm Saturday, Oct 25, and 10 am to 4 pm Sunday, Oct 26, along the 1100 to 1300 blocks of Central Ave, St Petersburg. Free parking is available at Tropicana Field's lot 6, on First Ave S around 13th St. Folkfest features music, artists, food, craft beers, children's activities and more. Admission is free and VIP packages are available.
New this year: The evening before Folkfest, the EDGE District Main Street and Green Bench Brewery are hosting “Food for Folks” – St. Pete’s LONGEST community dining table in celebration of National Food Day! National Food Day is a nationwide celebration and movement towards healthy, affordable, and sustainable food.
The annual festival is a fundraiser for Creative Clay, a local nonprofit whose mission is to provide expressive, educational and vocational opportunities in the arts for people with obstacles to arts access. Creative Clay programs, including Community Arts, Creative Care, Artworks, Artlink, Summer Youth Arts Camp, Transition and Open Studio, serve hundreds of individuals every week.
This year's sponsors include LocalShops1 members Ricky P's Orleans Bistro, the Ale & the Witch, Rick's Home Theatre Store and Great Explorations Children's Museum.
