Growing Up, a specialty shop and learning center for babies and parents, is celebrating two years in business Aug. 9 and 10 with cake, treats, prizes, sales and a lot more.
"After having our first child, we quickly became more conscious about the environment we live in and what products we were using with our child. We began making small steps and over five years have incorporated eco-friendly products in every facet of our lives. We've shared this knowledge with our friends and family every chance we get," says Melane Nelson, who owns the shop with her husband, Doug. "Upon learning we were pregnant with our second child, it became even more important to start those eco-friendly practices from the beginning. Unfortunately, in the Tampa Bay Area there were no local resources for learning about these products, so we spent a great deal of time online researching different products and the pros and cons of each. In this process, we learned that we have a great passion for this world and again were sharing that passion with friends and family. It became evident that we needed to share this and thus Growing Up was born."
Growing Up is at 689 MLK St. Jr., St. Petersburg. For more information call 727-894-4769.Sales, News & Events
