Big Week for Chart 411

Posted By LocalShops1, Monday, April 21, 2014

Chart 411, a St. Pete-based nonprofit dedicated to preserving the Gulf and the Gulf way of life, had a very busy week. Among the highlights:

  • Launch of new website
  • Executive director Lucinda Johnston took part in a news conference marking the fourth anniversary of the Deep Water Horizon Oil Spill.
  • Chart 411’s Chairman, Dr. J. Howard Johnston, and Lucinda Johnston spoke with St. Petersburg City Council in support of a resolution opposing seismic testing off the coast of Florida. The resolution passed with only one dissenting vote.
  • Chart 411 took part in St. Pete Earth Day in South Straub Park. The event was well attended and everyone had a great time.

And looking forward, there's much more to come. On April 30, Chart 411 will be joining Localshops1 and other sponsors in the first Engage St. Pete, featuring Mayor Rick Kriseman and several other community leaders. The event is organized by Sunset Rotary Club and the St. Pete Chamber's St. Pete Young Professionals group.
