St. Petersburg - RoCo Traders is celebrating their 10th year in business at 2115 Central Avenue in the Grand Central District. The celebration runs 10 am to 8 pm Friday and Saturday, Sept. 7 and 8.
Local artists will be featured each day, displaying work that includes paintings, signature jewelry, wearable painted scarves and more. In addition RoCo has new items coming in and plans great buys throughout the shop and garden area. Evenings will feature food, drink and music.
Mary Coyle and Durella Rodriguez opened RoCo in late July 2002 in the Grand Central District. They became known for distinctive—often one-of-a-kind—collections of sterling jewelry, furniture and home décor created by the best artists and craftsmen in Mexico. RoCo quickly became the place where St. Petersburg meets Mexico.
Over the years, RoCo expanded their product offerings. When the Gardens opened in 2004, RoCo added unique lines of garden planters, gazing balls and yard décor. Last year Twigs & Leaves, a Florida native nursery, joined the Gardens area to create a full-service urban garden center.
In addition to the sterling silver jewelry line, a perennial favorite with fashion savvy silver aficionados, RoCo added casual clothing for women, primarily in cottons, linen and silk. Featured accessories often include leather and woven handbags, scarves, belts, shoes and more from Mexico.
Long-time customers know that RoCo was derived from the first two letters of the owners’ last names. Over the years, RoCo has earned a reputation as the go-to place for people to find the perfect gift for just about any occasion.
