St. Petersburg - RoCo Traders is
celebrating their 10th year in business at 2115 Central Avenue in the
Grand Central District. The celebration runs 10 am to 8 pm Friday and Saturday, Sept. 7 and 8.
Local artists will be featured
each day, displaying work that includes paintings, signature jewelry,
wearable painted scarves and more. In addition RoCo has new items coming
in and plans great buys throughout the shop and garden area. Evenings
will feature food, drink and music.
Mary Coyle and Durella Rodriguez
opened RoCo in late July 2002 in the Grand Central District. They became
known for distinctive—often one-of-a-kind—collections of sterling
jewelry, furniture and home décor created by the best artists and
craftsmen in Mexico. RoCo quickly became the place where St. Petersburg
Over the years, RoCo expanded
their product offerings. When the Gardens opened in 2004, RoCo added
unique lines of garden planters, gazing balls and yard décor. Last year
Twigs & Leaves, a Florida native nursery, joined the Gardens area to create a full-service urban garden center.
In addition to the sterling silver
jewelry line, a perennial favorite with fashion savvy silver
aficionados, RoCo added casual clothing for women, primarily in cottons,
linen and silk. Featured accessories often include leather and woven
handbags, scarves, belts, shoes and more from Mexico.
Long-time customers know that RoCo
was derived from the first two letters of the owners’ last names. Over
the years, RoCo has earned a reputation as the go-to place for people to
find the perfect gift for just about any occasion.
