For 36 years, CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse, Inc.) has provided wide range of programs for victims of domestic violence and their families, advocacy and community education on domestic violence. CASA has developed, from a small, grassroots emergency shelter with eight beds and part-time staff into a flagship domestic violence organization. CASA has a reputation for fine work and innovative programs with more than 80 employees and 42 centers in Florida. CASA this month is opening a 100-bed emergency shelter, which will also provide offices for community social services. self sufficiency resources, classes on financial literacy, a structured youth program, medical clinic, gym, small kennel and a 24-hour crisis hotline.
