Out of the Weeds is an extension of Three Birds Tavern in St. Petersburg. The sauces and dressings created in their scratch kitchen have gained popularity over the years, and as owners Robin and Jack King watched guests requesting containers to take home, they decided to explore the manufacturing business. The company launched in September 2014 with three dressings (Carrot Ginger, Roasted Beet Vinaigrette and Roasted Tomato Vinaigrette), with more to come. The company sources locally grown products when possible, using only the highest quality of ingredients. and bottles locally, through The Sauceology Group by Intensity Academy.

"[We deliver] a quality product that is healthy and affordable, delicious and innovative, never compromising for profit motives. We have set the bar high, and as we introduce new Out of the Weeds products, we are committed to maintaining this level of quality with ingredients, design, and delivery. Even if it takes more time, and keeps profits margins a bit lower. Our contribution to our community is through our commitment to source locally grown fruits and vegetables when possible, and manufacture right here in the Tampa Bay area, employing local residents. We are exposing the area literally to the world, promoting Out of the Weeds as a Fresh from Florida product. And, we have, and will continue, to give both product and money to local organizations and events through fundraisers."
