La V offers traditional, modern and influential Vietnamese and fusion dishes in a fun yet sophisticated setting in downtown St. Petersburg. Among the featured dishes is the “Banh Mi” sandwich, which was brought into Vietnam when the French colonized Vietnam. Thuy Le, who came to America as a refugee, reached the "American dream" when she opened La V in 2012.
From their application for Best New Business:
"We all work together as a family; therefore, whenever the patrons dine in, they see more than one wait staff come to the table to make sure everything is being taking care of, vs. traditional serving staffs, where the patron might have to wait for the right one. At La V, just grab one of us including me. ... My biggest success is that I am very humble to have known almost everyone of my regular patrons by name. I love to see them [and] catch up with life, share memories, and plan for the future."
La V is 441 Central Ave., St. Petersburg. They can be reached at 727.820.3500 or www.lavfusion.com.
