Robin Wood of St. Petersburg opened Fred's Finest Pet Treats December 2002. The company features homemade, all
natural, corn-free human-grade pet treats, cat treats and locally grown cat
grass and catnip.
treats were started after baking a wedding cake for some friends. I
was asked if I wanted to start making treats and responded with a "no"
and that there was no interest. Just over 10 years later.....Fred's
Finest is doing well and I'm so glad my life took this turn!" Robin says.
Favorite part of owning a business: My favorite part is the way my customers thank me....a tail wag and kisses! Can't beat it!!!
Biggest struggle: Being
a vendor at local farmers markets, the biggest business struggle I have
would be dealing with all the various weather conditions. Knowing what
to do and when only comes with experience. But even with the weather
we sometimes have to deal with...it's all worth it.
Tell us more: I
have so much fun in my work.Get to work from home where I can enjoy
the company of my 2 cats, dog and puppy! Then I head to a market where I
can be around good friends and great customers. And of course, lots of
tail wags and kisses. Yep....it's a good life!"
