LocalShops1.com recently sponsored a contest by ShoutOUT Tampa Bay asking friends and followers why it's important to support local businesses. The prize was a one-year membership to LS1, given to one randomly selected local business. The winner was Deb Kelley, of The Write One Creative Services.
Here are some of our favorite responses!
April Cobb: I
feel that it is important to support local businesses in efforts to
promote community growth and relationships that ideally create a sense
of synergy within these communities. Being a business owner take a
great amount of effort and commitment, these owners deserve and need
their community support.
Wm. Cory Jeffries: Because a better economy starts at the grass roots level!
Ken Davidson: It is important not only for our economy but your soveriegnty as a nation.
Elizabeth Sullivan: That is how the economy comes back! On the shoulders of small business. I
am the owner of a small business in Temple Terrace and appreciate all
of the support for small business and give back every chance I can!

local economy alive is what I believe will keep our cities, towns alive
financially! When we support local businesses it supports local

business help build a brighter future for the local economy. Most
small business owners are our friends, family, and parents who put 100% of their time and money into their business.
Andrea Sellers: To help each other out and build a sense of community.

is the backbone of America. Before megastores, it was the small
independent business that built our country. I support small local
